Have your portrait taken, anywhere in the world — all you need is your phone!

What on earth is a remote shoot?
Well…you know when you’ve taken 159 selfies for your website or Instagram…and feel like throwing your phone out the window?
Let me take it for you.
You don’t have to go anywhere. I’ll guide a full shoot through your phone using an app, where I can control your camera remotely.
I’ll take the photos, you’ll move the phone, and together we’ll create photos of you that you actually like.
Part portrait session, part collaborative selfie.
All you need is your phone, some window light, and a bit of trust!
You can be anywhere in the world! Some of the places I’ve shot remotely:

“A remote shoot with Katy is like inviting an old friend over”
— Krystallin, North Carolina USA
Wanna invite me over?
Here’s how it works:
01. Pick a date
To book, simply pick a date and time for your shoot and the package you’d like.
Not sure if a remote shoot is for you? No worries! We can have a free 15 min call - just scroll down to book.
02. A little prep
After booking, you’ll send me a short video of your space, which will help me plan.
You’ll then download the free Clos app, get a phone tripod (or DIY with a can of beans & hairtie!), charge your phone, and clear 5-7GB of space.
03. Enjoy your shoot
We’ll meet on the Clos app - it’s like a video call, where I can capture photos of you!
I’ll guide you throughout, and you’ll be moving the phone around. You’re welcome to listen to music, change outfits, and take breathers whenever you like.
04. Your photos
Within 10 days, you’ll receive a private online gallery with your edited images - ready for you to view, download, and use however you like.

FAQs

It all happens through an app called Clos.
It’s basically like having a video call, except I can access your phone camera’s settings (exposure, focus, etc) and take photos of you.
We’ll chat for around 90 minutes, I’ll be guiding you, and you’ll be moving your phone around as we choose new compositions.
After the shoot, I’ll receive the images from Clos, select the best ones, edit them, and upload them to your own private online client gallery to choose from.

I’m sure it will be! I’ve done remote shoots on older iPhones and Androids and they’ve all turned out fine.
As long as you have 5-7GB free space, wifi, and plenty of battery, we’ll be good!
-
Nope!
I’ve done a shoot with just one wall before, and because the light was interesting, it made up for the lack of space to use.
As long as you have a window and a wall.
That said, 3-4 spots will give us more variety - and these could all be within one room!
-
That’s fine! I respect anyone’s need for privacy when it comes to photos of their own face.
Just let me know either before the shoot or after.
-
Firstly, I’ll never ask you to laugh, or smile. Never!
Secondly, the process of a remote shoot is so bizarre that it’s bound to make you laugh - or at the very least, not take things too seriously.
I’ll be chatting to you, giving you guidance, and helping you feel comfortable. Think of it as a video call with a friend, who also happens to take some decent photos of you - finally!

Here’s your list!
A smartphone ✔️
Phone tripod, or a DIY one (a can of beans and a hairtie/elastic, placed on top of a chair and pile of books - time to be creative!)
Charged phone to 100% (if you have a portable battery pack, this will be very helpful)
Send me a video of your space after booking, to help me plan for your shoot
An open mind!
